Rebecca Blanchard
2nd - 3rd Grade Teacher
“I love teaching because I love helping children grow into confident, inquisitive learners who know they have the tools to solve problems and make discoveries.”

Rebecca “Bekka” Blanchard began a working relationship with KJDS as an Aftercare Teacher while she was attending college. She was a thoughtful, passionate teacher that left her mark on our students. Bekka received a BA in Journalism and an MS in Elementary Education from The University of Tennessee. Her passion for teaching, high expectations from her students, and empowering approach are some of the reasons her classroom is a dynamic and engaging space.
Throughout her six years teaching Second and Third grades, Bekka participated on various committees and projects. She helped create an Action Research project on the use of Science Notebooks in the Primary Grades. Bekka and her team also worked together to improve Math practice and student enthusiasm about Math by using games, centers, and group activities to help students explore important concepts. Bekka is a life-long learner and student of educational practices.
